TKO Miller Launches Innovative Donor Advised Fund Initiative to Help Business Owners Multiply Their Charitable Impact Following a Business Sale
TKO Miller today announced the launch of its TKO Miller Impact Initiative, a Donor Advised Fund-based (DAF) program designed to help business owners integrate charitable giving into their exit planning while creating a lasting legacy beyond the sale of their company.
Selling a business is often the largest financial event in an owner’s lifetime. While many entrepreneurs focus on maximizing transaction value and minimizing taxes, they also want to make a meaningful impact on the people, causes, and communities that have helped shape their success.
TKO Miller’s new initiative helps clients accomplish both.
As part of the program, business owners who establish a Donor Advised Fund prior to the sale of their company can contribute a portion of their ownership interests before closing. Depending on individual circumstances, this strategy may provide significant tax advantages while allowing proceeds to be distributed to charitable organizations over time.
What makes the initiative unique is TKO Miller’s commitment to participate alongside its clients.
For every percentage of sale proceeds a client contributes to their Donor Advised Fund, TKO Miller will contribute the same percentage of its own success fee to the firm’s Donor Advised Fund. Those matching contributions will be directed toward charitable organizations, extending the collective impact created through each successful transaction.
“TKO Miller has a strong history of charitable giving,” said Tammie Miller, CO-Founder and Managing Director, TKO Miller. “This program could yield millions of dollars for the Milwaukee community and truly speaks to our giving and entrepreneurial mindset as an organization.”
Beyond potential tax efficiencies, Donor Advised Funds provide business owners with flexibility to determine which organizations receive grants over time, rather than making every charitable decision during an already complex business sale process. This approach also creates an opportunity to involve children and future generations in managing family philanthropy long after the business has been sold.
The Donor Advised Fund Initiative reflects TKO Miller’s continued commitment to providing business owners with thoughtful, value-added strategies that extend well beyond the transaction itself. By combining experienced exit planning with charitable giving, the firm aims to help clients maximize both financial outcomes and long-term community impact.
